FLORIDA YOUTH CHALLENGE ACADEMY The Florida Youth Challenge Academy's mission is to provide a highly disciplined and motivational environment, free from outside distractions, which fosters academics, leadership, development, personal growth, self-esteem, and physical fitness for qualifying high school dropouts.
The Academy consists of an operational staff and cadre with in-depth military experience, certified instructors from the Clay County School District system, a registered nurse, counselors and recruitment and placement personnel.

com CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.
The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.
As a CANDIDATE, you may be required to provide documentation (i.
e.
, High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.
) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.
Must be able to pass a Department of Juvenile Justice Background screening/test.
Must have and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License.
Must possess or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within six months of employment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A High School Diploma or equivalent; AND Three (3) years of verifiable work experience; AND One (1) year of experience working with at risk youth; AND A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with Passenger P and School Bus S endorsements is a requirement for this position.
(Applicants hired without a CDL License or required endorsements must obtain within 6 months of hire as a condition of employment.
Failure to obtain the CDL with endorsements will result in termination of employment.

Qualifications:
Military Experience.
Experience conducting physical training in a boot camp type environment.
Two (2) years of experience working with at-risk youth or troubled adults.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Supervises Cadre team members assigned to their platoon.
Responsible for ensuring assigned Cadre are properly trained and adhere to all policies and procedures in accordance with the Youth Challenge Master Cooperative Agreements, policies, guidance, and procedures established by the Director of Florida Youth ChalleNGe Academy.
Monitors and ensures Cadre are in compliance when performing Cadet's personal and performance counseling.
Ensures 100% accountability, custody, control, and personal safety of all cadets assigned to platoon.
Accountable for all personnel and equipment assigned.
Maintains equipment and ensure they are in proper working order.
Establishes and maintains strict oversight on all cadets and cadre.
Conducts continuous safety and risk management assessments.
Ensures standards are high and compliance is enforced.
Provide required written documents and detailed communication on any and all Cadre and Cadet misconduct and serious incidents.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communicationAbility to train individuals or groups of people.

Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Knowledge of mental or behavioral characteristics of at-risk youth.
Knowledge of self as a youth worker, including professional ethics, boundaries, and confidentiality.
Knowledge of Microsoft Window programs and Internet Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports.
Ability to Lead and supervise others.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
