The Department of Military Affairs would like to announce a new vacant position in the capacity of Environmental Specialist II located at Camp Blanding, Starke - FL. The candidate must meet the below mentioned requirements. Internal applicants are encouraged to apply. The Human Resources Office will be screening candidates in coordination with the hiring manager. Veterans' Preference is applicable for this position.




Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University in Environmental Studies or Environmental Science


Two (2) years' experience as an Environmental Specialist or¬  related field.




The Environmental Specialist II coordinates with CBJTC Environmental Specialist III to implement the Internal Compliance Assessment System, Environmental Management System (eMS) and applicable plans. Ensures regulatory compliance through facility/unit/activity aspect assessments and records of environmental consideration. Documents and inputs regulatory findings and corrective actions into the Army National Guard Web Compliance Assessment & Sustainment Systems site, and generates annual reports.


Provides EMS and regulatory guidance to military and civilian personnel via awareness strategies, such as standard operating procedures, training events, and briefings.¬  Maintains understanding of Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations and executive orders, as well as Department of Defense and National Guard policies.¬ 


Involved in the regulation of waste products; testing of air, water, and soil for the levels of pollutants; management and contact with hazardous materials/hazardous waste (primarily asbestos and pesticides); affecting compliance with environmental regulations; and the clean-up of polluted sites, as well as spill response.


Assists the CBJTC Environmental Specialist III/Integrated Pest Management Coordinator by controlling and managing pesticide application records, and implementing the Florida Army National Guard Integrated Pest Management Plan.


Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
