¬ New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


¬ 


Must be a current member of the Florida National Guard


One year of security or law enforcement experience; or two years of public contact experience; or two years of active or reserve military service


Must meet physical and special qualifications of the FLNG


Must be at least 19 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent


Must not have been convicted of any felony or of a misdemeanor involving perjury or a false statement.


Must be of good moral character, as determined by a background investigation established by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards & Training Commission


Must have and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License


Must qualify with assigned weapon on an annual basis


Must participate in Electronic Control Device, Pepper Spray course or similar training

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


¬ 


CONTROL ENTRY TO AND EGRESS FROM THE CAMP BLANDING JOINT TRAINING CENTER ACCESS CONTROL POINTS


¬ 


Work in combination with contracted security force to control installation access. Check/validate identification of personnel entering installation based on Force Protection Condition (FP-CON) in effect. Check gates and locks on closed Access Control Points to ensure installation access is blocked. Change gate combinations as scheduled. Work in combination with State Quartermaster Recreation Department, Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC), and other activities both external and internal to CBJTC for coordinating installation Access Control Point ingress/egress for authorized personnel. Monitor and cordon Access Control Points unauthorized entry violations until federal Military Police or authorized Law Enforcement arrives. Documents any incidents and or post violations. Maintains a communication log of all activities throughout the shift.

CONDUCT VEHICLE INSPECTIONS IN SUPPORT OF CAMP BLANDING SECURITY PROGRAM


¬ 


Perform visual inspections of vehicles and personnel entering the installation or designated facilities for contraband. Operates detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas. Support anti-terrorism and force protection measures by periodic and random sensor and/or visual inspection of vehicles entering the CBJTC installation when directed by the Commander or their designated representative

PATROL AND PROTECT LOCATION PERIMETERS AND MISSION ESSENTIAL OR VULNERABLE AREAS (MEVA) TO DETECT/DETER UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY:


¬ 


Patrol CBJTC designated areas, specified zones and CBJTC property perimeter as directed in Post SOP. Control entry to¬ ¬ ¬  restricted areas. Check all doors and gates to be sure they are secured. Operates a vehicle equipped with a two-way radio.¬  Carries uses and cares for a 45mm pistol or other weapon. Actively patrol installation perimeters for monitoring of possible breaches.¬  Installation perimeters include perimeter fence lines and cantonment lakefront.¬  The Security Personnel shall vary the rounds so as not to be predictable in the arrival times or the time spent at each location.

MONTOR ELECTRONIC SECURITY SYSTEMS (ESS) AND DEVICES INCLUDING AUTOMATED ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS (AACS), CLOSED CIRDUIT TELEVISION (CCTV), INTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEMS (IDS) AND SECURITY CONTROL CENTER (SCC), AS APPLICABLE AND INITIATE APPROPRIATE RESPONSE FORCES.

Responds to alarms.¬  Provide assistance to responding agency as required for accidents and other incidents.¬  Notify shift supervisor, police or Fire Rescue department in case of emergency, such as fire, accident, injuries or presence of unauthorized persons, suspicious activity, and breaches of security.


¬ 


PROVIDE OTHER SERVICE NECESSARY TO SECURE ARNG RESOURCES AND PERSONNEL AS APPROVED BY NGB-ARO-FP.


¬ 


Circulates among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order, protect property, and warns persons of Post Policy infractions or violations. Inspects department equipment and vehicles to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering. Observe fellow officers during weapons clearing procedures. Adhere to FLNG Standard of Conduct and wear of military uniform.

ADDITIONAL ABILITIES:


Must be able to perform following physical requirements in the line of duty


Wear police type duty equipment daily that weighs up to¬ 22lbs.


Be able to move heavy objects 40lbs or more


Carry injured or intoxicated persons while performing duties


Walk, stand, and sit for periods of not less than 30 min at a time


Enter and exit patrol vehicle excessively


Must be physically able to restrain non-compliant persons and or defend yourself in a physical confrontation


Run varied distances in full duty gear to subdue non-compliant personnel


Be able to stand for periods up to an hour during special security details


Able to function in all-weather situations

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
