DUTIES:
As a Small Arms Repairer, WG-6610-08, you will perform overhaul, maintenance, and repair on a variety of small arms that involve numerous parts, subassemblies, adjustments, and must be adjusted to close tolerances; diagnose and identify mechanical deficiencies and/or malfunctions in weapons, such as, automatic pistols, revolvers, shotguns, automatic rifles, grenade launchers, machine guns, rocket launchers, mortars, and other small arms and accessories; ensure the accountability, storage, and security of arms and other sensitive items while they are kept for repair, usually in vaults with limited access. PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Frequently lifts subassemblies or small weapons weighing 15 to 20 pounds. Often carries large assemblies or weapons weighing up 50 pounds. Work requires walking, bending, and long periods of standing. WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in shop buildings that are well lighted, heated, and ventilated. Stands on concrete floors or other hard surfaces for long periods. Exposed to oil, grease, and solvents when cleaning and lubricating weapons. Frequently exposed to the possibility of minor cuts and bruises from tools or sharp edges of metal. Subject to noise when test firing weapons. AREA OF CONSIDERATION:
This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709, and is open to Category 1 & 3 Only.Category 1:
All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency WITH dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3:
All current military members of the Florida National Guard. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS:
Permanent Change of Station (PCS) MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. MILITARY GRADES:

E9 & Below GENERAL EXPEREINCE:
Must have experience or training which demonstrates a working knowledge to read and interpret instructions, repair manual, specifications and drawings; knowledge of shop mathematics sufficient to use testing devices and measuring instruments; and proficiency in the use and maintenance of hand tools and equipment SPECIALIZED EXPEREINCE:
WG-6610-08 must have at least 12 months experience or training which demonstrates ability to work effectively and efficiently on weapons and mechanical systems in disassembly for repair, inspection to diagnose mechanical malfunctioning, wear and/or damage is required; experience in adjustment of levers, gear linkages and synchronization of interrelated mechanical systems; experience in applying technical manuals, regulations, specifications and drawings to determine operation, assembly and a tolerance of the variety of weapons cleaned, repaired and modified, is required; experience in using and maintaining a variety of hand and power tools and gages is required; tools include drills, files, saws, hammers, vises and precision gages and measuring instruments such as micrometers, optical comparators, ultrasonic checkers, magnafluxing machines and/or borescopes to determine when parts are worn or damaged beyond acceptable tolerances.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
