MATERIALS HANDLER SUPERVISOR (T32)
As a MATERIALS HANDLER SUPERVISOR (T32), WS-6907-6, you will plan weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations; establish deadlines and priorities based on established general schedules, methods and policies; determine skills, materials and equipment required to do the work; participate in the initial planning of current and future work schedules and development of budget requests; provide workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as the scheduling of projected work; assign tasks to be performed; explain work requirements, methods, and procedures; instruct subordinates on new procedures or methods and provides assistance on difficult or new problem areas; review work in progress or on completion; initiate or participate in review and improvement of work methods, organizational features, and the structuring of positions to eliminate unnecessary positions and achieve optimum content in those remaining; implement regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions; prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709, and is open to Category 1:
All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3:
All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4:
All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. PCS:
Permanent Change of Station (PCS) MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. MILITARY GRADES:
Enlisted/Warrant Officer, E6 - CW2 GENERAL
Experience:
Must have experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
WS-06 must have at least 36 months experience or training in receiving, packaging, and preparation for shipment.; experience in compiling reports, overall warehouse planning, documentation requirements, and accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques; experience in setting up and rotating storage locations considering factors such as life expectancy, available space, product turnover, etc. In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, Incumbent must have experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel; experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines; experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function; experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes; experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
