HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY)

As a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY), GS-0203-6, you will be responsible for military personnel and administrative work for the unit; advise supervisor of administrative eligibility requirements for personnel applying for training courses; provide regulatory information and complete documentation required for personnel action; function as the primary source of guidance and assistance to the unit commander and other members of the unit on military personnel matters; prepare and submit payroll for inactive and active duty training; assist Soldiers in gathering and submitting documentation necessary to receive educational and bonus incentives; post publications, maintain files, post updates, and changes; function as the unit file manager; contact organizations or individuals to arrange for use of facilities; assist in maintaining working relationships with local officials, clubs, etc., for a variety of purposes; work with community organizations to obtain support for the National Guard; requisition, receive, store, issue, and account for supplies and equipment. AREA OF CONSIDERATION:
This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709, and is open to Category 1:
All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3:
All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4:
All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS:
Permanent Change of Station (PCS) MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. TEMPORARY PROMOTION- For Title 32 selectees only:
This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour). If a permanent employee in the Title 32 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will retain their permanent status AND return to their previous Title 32 position once incumbent returns from military duty. If the military tour member, who has reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her reemployment rights within 5 years, the selected individual may remain in this position without further competition. INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-For Current Title 5 selectees only:
This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour). If an on-board individual employed in the Title 5 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3). If a Reduction-In-Force occurs and/or the military tour member exercises reemployment rights to this position, the indefinite appointee will have no reemployment rights to any other position and may be separated. If the military tour member, having reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her rights within 5 years, this position may be converted to a permanent status without further competition. INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-State National Guard Members (Not Current T5 or T32 Onboard) This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour), selectee will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3). Experience:
Must have administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, and experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
GS-06 must have at least 09 months experience, education or training that provided knowledge of general office work which may include but is not limited to:
answering telephones, receiving and distributing mail and maintaining records; experience following oral or written instructions to accomplish work; experience establishing and retrieving files and information; experience using common computer software designed for word processing.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
