As a PAINTER (T32), WG-4102-8/9, you will prepare surfaces (i.e., metal, wood and glass) by removing rust, paint, and loose particles; fill in holes and dents using body fillers and hardeners; sand and even out dents and scars to assure a smooth and level surface using sanders, scrapers, sandpaper, hand tools, wire brushes, and paint remover; apply coatings to specified areas ensuring the surfaces are free from skips, runs, and drips; apply rustproof compound to areas such as splash panels, quarter panels, seams structural members, and underbody construction; apply coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray paint equipment. PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Work is performed from ladders, scaffolds, and platforms and in cramped and hard-to reach places. Work requires standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. There is frequent lifting, carrying, and setting up of materials and equipment that weigh up 10 pounds. Occasionally, materials and equipment may weigh 40 pounds and over. WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed inside and outside, where dirt, spray, and fumes are usually present. May be required to prepare and coat surfaces outside in bad weather. Required to wear protective equipment and clothing that are sometimes heavy and uncomfortable. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises and occasionally exposed to the possibility of broken bones. AREA OF CONSIDERATION:

All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency WITH dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3:
All current military members of the Florida National Guard. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS:
Permanent Change of Station (PCS) MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. MILITARY GRADES:
Enlisted, E8 & Below TEMPORARY PROMOTION- For Title 32 selectees only:
This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour). If a permanent employee in the Title 32 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will retain their permanent status AND return to their previous Title 32 position once incumbent returns from military duty. If the military tour member, who has reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her reemployment rights within 5 years, the selected individual may remain in this position without further competition. INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-For Current Title 5 selectees only:
This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour). If an on-board individual employed in the Title 5 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3). If a Reduction-In-Force occurs and/or the military tour member exercises reemployment rights to this position, the indefinite appointee will have no reemployment rights to any other position and may be separated. If the military tour member, having reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her rights within 5 years, this position may be converted to a permanent status without further competition. GENERAL
Experience:
Must have experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of surface preparation (removal of rust, dirt, paint, etc); coating methods (brushing, rolling, and spraying); and coating materials (paints, varnishes, shellacs, etc; the ability to use tools and equipment associated with the painting trade and to read and interpret directions. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
WG-08 must have at least 12 months experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of standard surface preparation and coating methods and techniques; experience must demonstrate the skill to sand, wire brush, scrape, spackle, putty, prep surfaces and select appropriate tools to complete assigned tasks; experience must also demonstrate the skill to brush on, roll on, and spray coating materials, and apply other related methods and techniques, such as cutting-in techniques and dip and overflow methods; experience which required the applicant to interpret and follow technical orders, specifications and publications. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
WG-09 must have at least 18 months experience or training in surface preparation and coating methods and techniques; building up, shaping, and leveling surfaces with metal and synthetic resins, plastics, and patching compounds; obtaining finely smoothed surfaces with abrasive compounds, pumice, and rottenstone; even out dents and scars by burning-in processes; and treat surfaces with pre-coating agents. MULTIPLE LEVEL RECRUITMENT:
This position is being advertised using multiple level recruitment to allow for consideration of applicants with the basic skills necessary to develop to the full journeyman level of the position. If a less than fully qualified applicant is selected, incumbent may be trained and developed until proficiency is gained to full journeyman level. If less than fully qualified individual is selected for this position, the position has potential to Grade 09.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
